Writing Home

A creative writing workshop for persons of all ages will be held at the Jefferson County Library in Madras on Sat., January 30 from 1-4 p.m. The workshop is titled Writing Home and will be led by published author and poet Rob Whitbeck of rural Wheeler County. Whitbeck will encourage writing by persons of all skill levels to explore the concept of writing from personal experience and will give many examples of writing from the Northern West. There is no charge for the program, which is offered by the nonprofit Libraries of Eastern Oregon (LEO) as part of its Sense of Place series of programs in the arts, sciences and humanities. Whitbeck has led creative writing workshops in other communities in eastern Oregon and they have been extremely well received. The Oregon Community Foundation has provided funding to LEO for the Writing Home workshops. For further information, contact LEO at leolibraries@gmail.com
