Star Wars:
The Last of the Jedi:
The Desperate Mission
by Jude Watson
Book review by Thijmen, age 13.
The Last of the Jedi is about after the Republic was turned into an empire and Obi-Wan is in exile on Tatooine, watching over young Luke Skywalker to teach him the ways of the force and to become a great Jedi so Luke can defeat the emperor and Darth Vader and make the galaxy a republic again.
Obi-Wan is at a cantina when he hears about Ferus Olin, a former Padawan who chose to leave the council. It saved his life too, when order 66 came down—a terrible order that calls all Jedi traitors to the republic and is sent out to kill all Jedi.
But getting back to the book, Obi-Wan has the choice of finding Ferus to help him or staying here to protect Luke. Just then Qui-Gon came into Obi-Wan’s head and said he would protect Luke while Obi-Wan is gone.
Obi-Wan goes to Bellasa, but he meets up with a kid named Trever who helps him find Ferus up in the mountains hidden very carefully. When Obi-Wan finds him he gets followed by fourteen-year-old Boba Fett, a bounty hunter. They were able to escape the clutches of Boba Fett and his friend D’harhan. He has a blaster cannon for a head.
But they get a message that says if Ferus doesn’t surrender the empire will execute all its recent prisoners, so he decides to go back. They have a plan for how to get out unarrested and free the prisoners.
They were able to escape the planet, with Trever as a stowaway, and they jump into hyper space to escape the empire.
