Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?
ILL allows JCLD patrons to borrow items that are not found in the tri-county collection (Jefferson County, Crook County, and Deschutes Public Libraries). We will search libraries outside of the Tri-County area to locate the materials you need.
What types of items are not available through ILL?
- Materials that can be found in the tri-county collection
- Items published or released within a year
- Feature films or television series
How much does ILL cost?
This is a free service for library cardholders. You are responsible for paying for expedited shipping. There is a $5 fee per item that is not checked out, is canceled, or is returned after the due date.
How many ILL items can I request?
You may have a total of 5 items in process. Additional requests cost $5.00 per item.
How long does it take to receive an ILL item?
Item deliveries vary by supplier.
How long can I keep an ILL item?
Generally, 5 weeks. However, it also depends on the lending library.
What if I lost or damaged an ILL item?
You are responsible for replacing the lost or damaged items.
Can I renew my ILL item?
If the lending library allows renewals, there will be a note on the slip attached to the cover notifying you.
