Celebrate Smokey Bear’s 80th Birthday. Join Smokey in learning about wildfire prevention and the environment. Read books, take action, and have fun! And remember…only you can prevent wildfires.

How to Participate

• Who: Challenge is geared for parents of children, ages 4 to 10, but all ages are welcome. 
• When: June 1 through August 31, 2024. (Visit Smokey Bear Reading Challenge if you want to continue participating after August 31, 2024 and register with the national program.)
• How to Sign Up: Pick up your reading log from the library or get started by downloading the printable challenge log. You can also check out Smokey’s Reading List. 
• Have Fun: Read books about wildfire and the environment, take action, receive prizes, and help Smokey!
