Need a document notarized? Jefferson County Library offers free notary services by appointment, Tuesday–Thursday, 10am–3pm.

Whether you’re signing forms, verifying a signature, or completing other official paperwork, our notaries are here to help.

What to Bring

• A valid, non-expired photo ID
• The document you need notarized — filled out but not yet signed
• Any required witnesses — please bring your own witnesses if your document needs them

There is no charge for notary services at the library.
Please note that notaries may refuse service at their discretion.

Appointments

Appointments are available to library cardholders in good standing.
To request an appointment, complete the form at the bottom of this page, and a staff member will respond within three business days to confirm a time that works for you.

Please Note

• Patrons must have an active JCLD library card to access notary services.
• The notary is not an attorney licensed to practice law and cannot:
  • Draft legal records
  • Provide legal advice, including immigration matters
  • Charge a fee for those activities
