Bend - La Pine : Is the largest school district east of the Cascades in the state Oregon. Due to the growth of the region in recent years, the need to separate the Grades 3-5 Division in 2023 took place.
Bend - La Pine became Region 7A. The surrounding communites and adjacent counties became Region 7B. Both regions send a team to compete at the state tournament in mid-April.
In the middle and high school divisions all of Central Oregon and parts of Eastern Oregon compete at regional tournaments together.

Black Butte: Located at the headwaters of the Metolius River in Camp Sherman, Jefferson County. Black Butte Elementary has competed in school and district Oregon Battle of the Book tournaments but never a regional tournament.
Harney County Library : Located in Burns, the gateway to the Steen Mountains and Alvord Desert. They are an Original 11 member who have participated in every 7B Regional Tournament since its inception.
Crane : Located in Harney County. The Mustangs are an Original 11 member.
Silver Medalists in 2023.
Dayville: Located in Grant County. The Tigers are participating in the Oregon Battle of the Books for the first in school history in 2026. The community is located close to the John Day Fossil Beds and the Thomas Condon Vistor Center.
Fossil : Located in Wheeler County. The local high school comprises of its own fossil beds and encourages the public to dig and explore.
The Rattlers have competed in the Oregon Battle of the Books in the past but not since the inception of 7B.
Humbolt Elementary: Located in John Day, Grant County. The Little Prospectors are one of the Original 11 members. They are the regions most accomplished team:
Bronze Medalists in 2023
Gold Medalists and state qualifers in 2024
Silver Medalists in 2025.
The Jefferson County School District hosted the first two regional tournaments in the newly created 7B Region.
In 2023 the regional tournament was held at the Performing Arts Center in Madras. And in 2024 it was held at the Warm Spings K-8 Academy.
The Buff Bears became the district's first state qualifying team in 2023.
Big Muddy Bobcats : Located near the town of Antelope, in southern Wasco County. The school is apart of the Jefferson County School District 509J and participated in the regional tournament in 2024.
Buff Bears : One of the Original 11 members. Have participated in every 7B Regional Tournament since its inception. Gold Medalists and state qualifiers in 2023.
Madras Golden Eagles : One of the Original 11 members. Have participated in every 7B Regional Tournament since its inception.
Jefferson County Library District Otters : Participated in a district touramant in 2021, when the regional and state tournaments were cancelled due to Covid.
Warm Springs K-8 Academy Eagles : One of the Original 11 members. Have participated in every 7B Regional Tournament since its inception.
South Wasco County Elementary : Having spent years in Region 4 battling the river communities of Hood River and The Dalles, Maupin made the move to 7B when the region was created in 2023.
The Redsides competed in their first 7B Regional Tournament in 2025.
Metolius Wolves : One of the Original 11 members. Have participated in every 7B Regional Tournament since its inception.
Barnes Butte Badgers : One of the Original 11. Have participated in every 7B Regional Tournament since its inception. Will host regionals in 2026.

Steins Pillar Eagles : One of the Original 11. Have participated in every 7B Regional Tournament since its inception. Silver medalists in 2024.
The Redmond School District is the largest school district in Region 7B, made up of 9 schools. Six of the nine schools expanded into the league in 2024.
In 2025, the district sent their first school, Vern Patrick, to the state tournament in Salem.
Hugh Hartman Jaguars : Participated in the 7B Regional Tournament in 2024 and 2025.
John Tuck Tornados : Participated in the 7B Regional Tournament in 2024 and 2025.
M.A. Lynch Lion Cubs : Participated in the 7B Regional Tournament in 2024 and 2025.
Redmond Flex : Particiapted for the first time at the 7B Regional Tournament in 2025.
Sage Owls : Participated in the 7B Regional Tournament in 2024 and 2025.
Terrebonne Cougars : Participated for the first time at the 7B Regional Tournament in 2025.
Tom McCall Mustangs : Participated in the 7B Regional Tournament in 2024 and 2025. Bronze Medalists in 2024.
Tumalo Tigers : One of the Original 11 members. Have participated in every 7B Regional Tournament since its inception.
Vern Patrick Panther Cubs : Participated in the 7B Regional Tournament in 2024 and 2025. Gold Medalists and state qualifers in 2025.
Sisters : Located in Deschutes County. The Outlaws are one of the Original 11 members and have participated in every 7B Regional Tournament since its inception.
