Eligibility
- This contest is open to bakers of all ages!
- Pies must be entered in the name of the person who made it.
- You may enter up to three pies. Flavors must be either Apple, Pumpkin, or Pecan.
- Your pie must be made from scratch and fit in a 9”–10” pie plate/pan. Please include a cover.
- You may not use pre-made store-bought crust or pre-made pie fillings.
Entering a Pie
Bring your Pie to the Maccie-Conroy building at the Jefferson County Event Complex by 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Your pie will be assigned an entry number to maintain the baker’s confidentiality.
Remember your completed registration form, or fill one out when you arrive.
Acknowledge that the entered pies become the property of Books, Bites & Harvest Delights, and that you do not get your pie(s) back.
Unless you voice an objection, if you win, you give permission for your photo to be taken during the announcement ceremony and used in promotional materials.
Judging
Judging will start at 1 pm. Judges will not be present at the contest area while the pies are being delivered to ensure the confidentiality of the bakers. The judging area will be "off limits" to all but Judges and Association members. Youth and adult entries will be judged separately.
Criteria
Each pie will be judged on a scale of 1-10 (one being the lowest and 10 the highest) for each criterion listed below for a maximum of 50 points. Judges’ decisions are final.
- Overall Appearance
- Crust – Color, Texture, Doneness, Flavor
- Filling – Consistency, Doneness, Moistness, Flavor
- Creativity
- Taste
